Steps

  1. Open Settings > Notifications in the Cyntree app and check Push permissions at the top of the screen.
  2. If Device status is not granted, tap Enable notifications and accept the system permission prompt. If you previously tapped Don't Allow, the prompt will not reappear — you must enable Cyntree manually in your phone's system settings (see step 7 or 8 below).
  3. Turn on Enable push delivery under Delivery & booking alerts. This is the master switch for staff push delivery and must stay on for any booking, payment, or reminder push to reach you.
  4. Tap Send test notification. A confirmation notification should arrive within a few seconds. If it does, you are set up correctly — the rest of this article is troubleshooting for when it does not arrive.
  5. Troubleshooting: if the test notification did not arrive, work through steps 6 to 11 in order. These are the common causes, ordered from most to least frequent.
  6. Re-check device permissions in your phone's system settings. Cyntree must show 'Allowed' (iOS) or be enabled under app notifications (Android). A previous 'Don't Allow' is sticky and will silently block every push until you reverse it here.
  7. iOS check: open iPhone Settings > Notifications > Cyntree and confirm Allow Notifications is on, plus Alerts, Sounds, and Badges are all enabled. Then check Settings > Focus — any active Focus mode (Do Not Disturb, Sleep, Work) will silently filter Cyntree pushes unless Cyntree is added as an Allowed App in that Focus.
  8. Android check: open system Settings > Apps > Cyntree > Notifications, confirm Show notifications is on, then expand each category (Bookings, Payments, Reminders, Summaries) and confirm each channel is on. Channels disabled at the system level cannot be re-enabled from inside Cyntree.
  9. Android battery optimization (Samsung, Xiaomi, OnePlus, Huawei, Honor, and other custom ROMs): aggressive battery managers can kill background notifications even when permissions are correct. Open Settings > Apps > Cyntree > Battery and set it to Unrestricted, Not optimized, or No restrictions depending on your phone's wording.
  10. Sign out of Cyntree and sign back in. This re-registers your device push token with our servers. Stale tokens are a common cause of silent failures after a long period of inactivity, an OS update, or a device restore from backup.
  11. Confirm you are checking the right device. Push notifications go only to the device currently signed in to your Cyntree account. If you recently switched phones, sign out on the old device so new pushes route to the new one.
  12. Still nothing after all of the above? Contact Cyntree support and include: your device model, OS version, whether Send test notification reports success in-app, whether you have signed out and back in, and the time of the most recent missed booking. This information lets support check the delivery log directly.
  13. Outcome check: Send test notification delivers within a few seconds, and a real booking on your public page triggers a push within roughly a minute under normal network conditions.
